Technology Based Courses - K to Gr. 5

Bible

This corresponds closely with the in-school classes, including a lesson and Bible memory work. The DL teacher may also send links to helpful or interesting internet sites. Reporting is done on-line and the teacher welcomes comments or questions.

Math

We use the Primary Success hands-on curriculum which includes drills, assignments, games, and testing.

Phonics/Language

Workbooks are provided. If a student is having trouble, the DL teacher can offer other activities or website links to cover the work in a format more specific to the student.

Reading

Abeka and Bob Jones readers are provided. Additional activities and websites can be sourced as well.

Creative Writing/Handwriting

This is based on in-class activities, and may include on-line choices and journaling.

Science

Textbooks, activities and projects, with some individualized assignments.

Social Studies

Textbooks, activities and projects, with some individualized assignments.

Physical Education

Activities include an in-class or individualized program including Daily Physical Activity. We also track sports and other activities in which the student is already involved.

French

Some of our DL students take part in the French classes provided in the Main Campus; others are using a program entitled No French? No Problem!

Music

For some students, the in-school music class is the preference; others follow the curriculum provided and may include songs from other subjects as well. The DL students are welcomed and encouraged to be involved in the Christmas & Easter drama productions.

Technology Based Courses - Gr. 6-9

Bible 5/6

Video based curriculum with worksheets, assignments, testing and memory work.

Bible 7/8

This is an Abeka course, easily accessible for the individual’s timetable. Through Jupiter Grades, the DL students receive Bible memory work, weekly lessons, and monthly projects from which they can select the venue they will use, whether that is paper based, on-line, video, etc.

Math

Saxon Math and Math Power, including drills, assignments and testing.

Language Arts: Grammar, Novel studies & Creative Writing

Variety is the word for our L.A. program. This includes on-line poetry, on-line spelling, grammar drills and assignments, novels, Abeka anthologies, and creative writing taught from various resources.

Science

BC Science texts, activities and projects, some on-line work and individualized assignments. Some DL students use video taping to present their projects.

Social Studies

Textbooks, activities and projects, current events component, and some individualized assignments.

Activities include in-class or an individualized program including Daily Physical Activity. We also track sports and other activities in which the student is already involved.
